DOGID: 3006
Name: Zelda ADOPTION PENDING
Location: Baker City, OR
Age: 10
Color: Brown
Sex: female
Weight: 60
Neutered? yes
Vaccines:
  • Rabies
  • DHLPP
  • Kennel Cough
Heartworm Negative? Yes
Health Conditions: Zelda is a senior and hence has some arthritis and an little growth on her eyelid that is scheduled for removal this week. We assume that she will need something to alleviate her arthritis, but she still is a spunky girl and is up for playing with her foster brothers.
Housetrained? yes
Dog surrendered to Rescue because: Housing concerns
Other Reason: Zelda has severe separation anxiety, she is happiest with the company of another dog and her person. She barks for hours when left at home alone and had to be surrendered due to the fact that she did not do well at home alone during the day when her person was at work, thus her barking was not something her owner's landlord could allow.
Good With:
  • Other Dogs
  • Strangers
  • Children
Dog Likes:
  • Car Rides
Working Ability:
Working Comments: Zelda's previous owner adopted her from another rescue that was told she had been trained as a "service dog" and thus was not trained to retrieve. She is very calm and well mannered and does not get on furniture. Because she is new to us, we do not know her swimming ability/history. She will definitely chase cats and will not be called off of the chase, but she's not fast enough to catch them.
Behavioral Problems:
  • Separation Anxiety
Other Behavioral Problems: Zelda is a very easy dog to have around, but her separation anxiety is severe. She will do best in a home with other socialized dogs and prefers not to be left alone.
Bitten? No
Bite Explanation:
Commands known:
  • Come
Tricks: Zelda lays down when you give her the Sit command. She's obedient, but not necessarily finely tuned on commands per se. She sticks around and will not take off.
Other Info: Zelda did not show an interest in toys when she was the only dog. However in her foster home she very much enjoys toys particularly as it relates to "keep away" with her foster brothers.
