Other Info: Chester is a senior purebred male Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Chester was transferred to us when the animal santuary where he resided closed. Chester is just a sweet big old lug. He has some arthritis and a sore on his back left foot. Chester is a loving boy. He loves to go for walks, is good with other dogs, loves his tennis balls, but doesn't want to give them back. Seniors are usually the easiest dogs to foster or integrate in to a family. Our vet estiamted his age of 12 to 14 years old. Chester seems to be doing ok. He walks really slow. Some days he seems better than others. Sometimes we think he looks younger then when we picked him up. He sure doesn't want to miss out on anything. Sometimes he will play with a ball and others he just watches the resident chessie in his foster home. Sometimes he still tries to get out of the crate and scrapes his nose up when his foster mom leaves for work. He needs someone that can be home most of the day and work with him more. He is a really good boy. Loves to be loved. He doesn't seem to have any food aggression or toy aggression. Just a big oaf that is always looking for food. His foster dad says he looks like Fozzie Bear. His foster mom think he looks like Goliath in that show Davey and Goliath. Chester really enjoys being around people. He is a wise old man. He is our resident foodie. He has fatty lumps. His teeth are not good. Ears looked good. Definitely has a lot of hearing loss. Has a lot of nuclear sclerosis in his eyes. Lots of muscle loss on the left side and general all over. He weighed in at about 72lbs. The sore on his leg is a lick granuloma. The vet didn't recommend pain meds and said to continue the glucosamine with MSM.
