Buddy was turned over to rescue due to the death of his owner and the predicament he was thrown into. He was from the Dock Diving world and made a name for himself! He has since found a wonderful home. Here’s what he’s up to now! Buddy has been a wonderful addition to our family over the past 18 months. His daily quirks and small challenges are just pieces of his big personality. He came to us originally from Oregon after staying with several foster families before he found a permanent placement with our family. When we first got him he was still recovering from a traumatic situation with his original owner and his recovery process was a roller coaster ride of getting used to a new environment. That being said Buddy quickly won over the hearts of everyone he met and still gets extra treats out of the vet. Unfortunately Buddy was diagnosed with an enlarged heart condition and was given only a few months to live. Miraculaouly that hasn’t slowed him down from getting so much out of life and swiping a few pieces of pizza off the kitchen counter over the last 18 months. He is such a special dog and while a champion dock diver in his younger days he now enjoys snuggling with his favorite toys by the fireplace . We love how much joy Buddy has brought to our lives and are grateful to the Chesapeake Bay Retriever Rescue Foundation for all of the good work that they do for such special dogs.
Sadly Buddy lost his battle with his enlarged heart in April 2019. His life meant so much to many of us and will be greatly missed.
