All CBRR&R dogs are given a thorough examination including immunizations and tests for parasites. They will receive necessary medical treatment and will be neutered or spayed (very young puppies will be placed under a Spay-Neuter contract) before placement.
CBRR&R Rescue Dogs
Fully Vetted Dog
Temperament and Training
Often our dogs have lived in a foster home, have been evaluated on temperament and have even brushed up on some manners.
You will be able to reach out to your rescue volunteers for questions, advice and especially to share the success stories and pictures (we love that.) You and your new rescued Chessie will always be CBRR&R alumni & family.
Adoption Options Dogs
The dogs listed here are in need of good homes. They are all third party placements (direct placement from shelter or owner to new home). This is a resource that CBRR&R offers to people who are looking to find a new home for their dog and/or shelters seeking additional exposure for a Chesapeake Bay Retriever in their care. Adoption Options dogs consist of dogs that owners wish to place on their own or dogs we are unable to take in to our rescue program due to capacity or various other reasons. We strongly encourage people to explore every possible alternative to surrendering their dog. Please research and clarify any concerns, costs, or anything else that may arise as a problem PRIOR to acquisition of a particular dog. We suggest you do this with all types of rescues/adoptions or purchases from breeders.
If you are interested in adopting one of the following dogs, please directly email or telephone the person listed as the contact for the dog you are interested in. CBRR&R does not guarantee placements. CBRR&R volunteers have not evaluated these dogs and are not responsible for the behavior, actions, or quality of the owner-listed dogs here.
