Every year CBRR&R helps hundreds of Chessies in need. Sometimes these dogs need a little extra help. They might suffer from injuries or chronic illnesses, or have been badly abused or neglected. They may need special medical treatments, behavioral training or nurturing before they can find their own ‘forever’ homes.
Donations in excess of a specific dogs need will be used for our other dogs in need. Remember every donation counts and is tax deductible.
In honor of Gary Ford. Gary asked that the funds be used to support the dogs, and wanted to make sure the needs of the dogs were taken care of providing funds to pay for transport, vet care, training, and fostering.

In honor of a California foster dog who came to us with severe nerve damage caused from a foot injury that was not taken care of. Although our volunteers tried everything to save Diesel, he passed away. But not before knowing the love of his foster family and the joy of having people who truly cared.

The Miche Carr Memorial Fund has been established in memory of Michel Carr. Miche, as he was known to his friends, was a long-term lover of the breed who tragically lost his life saving his beloved Bart from icy, Iowa winter waters.
At the Carr Family’s request, the Miche Carr Memorial Fund is established for Senior (8+ years old) Chesapeake Bay Retrievers who are in Rescue due to the loss or terminal illness of their owner or other dogs in need.
